Applicants are responsible for presenting the following information for
consideration for admission:
Admission to the MBA Program:
- U.S.
Resident Students
- Formal application may be submitted online for admission with
the appropriate application fees. Click

- An official copy of transcripts from all
institutions of higher education attended must be submitted to the
Office of Admissions.
- Residency Form (for state of Maryland

B. International Students
- International students should refer to
the instructions for
Application for International Students.
- For international students: TOEFL
Exam Scores with a 213 CBT (computer-based) or 550 PBT (paper-based) or
79 IBT (internet based) minimum needed or IELTS Exam Score with a
6.5 minimum required. Beginning Fall 2007,
there will be no exceptions for non-native English speakers to be
admitted without a test of their English proficienty.

C. Additional application
requirements:
- Graduate
Management Admissions Test (GMAT)* score sent to institution
#6F2-SX-08 for part-time students OR 6F2-SX-78 for full-time students;
- Two letters of recommendation from
individuals qualified to judge the applicant's ability to do graduate
work in business (professional or academic sources only);

- Current resume;
- Essay: reasons that pursuing a
master's degree will meet the student's personal, professional and
academic goals and what is unique about the student's
candidacy-(maximum of two pages, double-spaced);
- Completion of foundation
courses with a grade of "C" or better.
The minimum standard for admission** is
1. The attainment of a total score
of at least 1000** points based on the following formula: [200 X overall GPA (on a 4.0 scale)] + GMAT
score
OR
2. The
attainment of a total score of at least 1,050** points based on the following formula: (200 X
upper-division GPA-last 60 credit hours) + GMAT score.
**Attainment of
these totals does not guarantee admission and there
are no exceptions for the GMAT. Offers
of admission are competitive to insure a high quality study body
and space availability in the program is limited. The
above standards represent minimum
standards only.
**In addition, points may be added to the
above totals for
qualified work experience at 10 points per year for a maximum of
50 total points. Qualified work experiences is defined at the middle
management level with supervisory/budget responsibilities or higher.
Work experience will be reviewed by the MBA committee for admissions
decisions.
Provisional Admission I#
Applicants with a minimum 3.25 overall GPA or at
least a 3.5 upper-division GPA may enroll prior to taking the GMAT for a
maximum of six credit hours for a maximum of one term, provided space is
available in the classes and ALL other admissions criteria have been met
including completion of all foundation courses with a grade of "C" or
better. No student may register for a second
term unless a competitive GMAT score has been received by the program director.
#This option is not
available to international students on an F-1 Visa as you must be
enrolled in a minimum of nine (9) credit hours.
Provisional Admission
II
Provisional admission may
also be granted to applicants who have not yet completed the
required foundation courses listed under requirements or their
equivalents but who competitively meet one of the required totals shown in
the admissions formulas above. Students in this category should apply for
admission as soon as possible so that a specific, individualized plan for
satisfying core requirements may be developed in consultation with the
director of business graduate programs of the Franklin P. Perdue School of
Business. Provisionally admitted students may, with the approval of the
director, take a maximum of six semester hours of M.B.A. courses (600-level)
and must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 in undergraduate
M.B.A. core courses and/or 500-level courses (combined) with no grade less
than C.
