I. Application Application forms may be obtained from the Graduate Program Director or the form may be downloaded from this link. Completed forms and any supporting documentation should be returned to the Graduate Program Director by April 24th for fall assistantships and by October 24th for spring assistantships (if spring assistantships are available). II. Eligibility To be eligible for appointment as a Graduate Assistant, the student must be admitted to the University for Graduate Study and accepted into a graduate program. The student must be full-time status (graduate assistants may take 6 credit hours and be considered full-time status). III. Appointment of Assistantships The selection process for Graduate Assistants is competitive and GAs are selected based on their cumulative grade point average, GMAT scores, reference letters from the MBA application, skills and experience as listed on the resume from the MBA application and the responses on the GA application form and based on the number of positions available. There are not enough positions available to award one to all who apply. Appointment of Graduate Assistants are made by the Graduate Program Director based on the recommendations of the MBA Committee and in accordance with funds available. Letters of appointment to successful applicants are mailed from the Office of the Graduate Program Director immediately after selections are made, on or around May 1st for fall GAs or November 1st for spring GAs. IV. Terms of Appointment Graduate Assistantships are generally awarded for one academic year commencing with the fall semester and continued through the spring with the recommendation of the Graduate Program Director. In special cases, an appointment may be awarded for longer or shorter periods. V. Responsibilities of the Graduate Assistant The Graduate Assistant (GA) is expected to work 20 hours per week in the Perdue School of Business. S/he is assigned 3-4 professors with whom to work in the Business School and the primary responsibility of the GA is to provide research assistance to the faculty members. GA’s must maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average while matriculating in the MBA program as a graduate assistant. VI. Compensation The stipend is $2500 per semester which is paid, in bi-weekly installments, over a 10 month period of time beginning in September and finishing in June. In addition, graduate assistants receive tuition remission for a maximum of 18 credit hours which may be distributed throughout the academic year (Fall, Winter, Spring or Summer terms).
